Greasing the bearings for future skaters

Born and raised in Northern California, Nicole was always on the move: skating in all forms, surfing &  snowboarding. Influenced by her father’s endeavors, she also helped start the San José State University Women’s rugby team. She grew up surrounded by and being part of the culture of extreme sports and skating. She firmly supports the sustainable evolution and growth of these forms of activities.

“Skateboarding doesn’t have to be exclusive. I grew up in a very active family. My mother was a big runner while my father was a league rugby player. Me and my sister watched them compete as children. My father always encouraged me to take on the sports that were then thought of as “men’s” sports. He would always say to me “Girls can play too and can be just as good, or if not, better!”. His attitude taught me that the stereotypes I was seeing and experiencing outside of my home, were incorrect. I want everyone to have the same comfort while exploring their way to express themselves through sport.

NFA Boards was established because I wanted to create an inclusive brand built on great design, exceptional quality, and an underlying mission of giving back to the community through partnerships and outreach. I’m very proud of what this brand has already accomplished and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
